Dutch Dare 112 ~ Lotsa White

I have had a huge blogger and scrapbooking hiatus but I'm scrapping again and determined to blog more and give you the peeks into my life whetheryou want it or not ...

The dare for this month is white, and I decided to make a layout about my Personal Malden Filofax.

I used a faux filofax for years and when I purchased a smart phone decided to neglect my organiser and use the phone, it has a calendar, it can give you reminders, it made sense. But after 2 years (and my second samsung) I felt like i was always playing catch up, one step behind in my planning and important events things had to change.

On Pinterest and Instagram I noticed that there was a new trend arising, decorating your filofax with stickers, washi and lovely colored pens.

Now scrapbookers are people who like to decorate so the spark was lit again. I dug up my faux filofax, bought inserts and started playing and planning again! Lord knows I have plenty of things to decorate with {but to be honest you can never have enough washi, stickie notes or stickers}. We have plenty of fun stores in the Netherlands {HEMA, Flying Tiger, Action, Sostrene Grene, Zeeman, Wibra} but they do not have as much cute things the Walmart 1$ stationary section or cheap deals like Michaels so I try to swap on several FB pages or via Instagram. There are also lot's of fun stores online and on Etsy.

Besides all the hoarding, swapping and rak'ing there's also the desire to own the prettiest filofax there is. I have a few in my collection right now, I don't use them all, some are an investment (no longer available) like the medium Mint Kikki.k planner and the personal rose Finchley. I am currently using the personal purple malden you see in the layout as an organiser and a pocket purple pennybridge as a wallet.

 I enjoyed it so much I started joining groups on Facebook and started a Dutch FB Group and a European FB Group with likeminded filofax lovers.

Celebration ~ There's a party goin' on right here

Wie had gedacht toen we, als design team van het wijlen Memory Lane Scrapbooking,  een dare blog begonnen in 2006 dat we nu zoveel jaar laten nog steeds mensen inspireren met onze dares.

Dus trots ben ik wel op deze 100ste Dutch Dare en op alle design team members die zoveel enthousiasme, energie, tijd en creativiteit in de blog hebben gestoken ! 6 jaar is best een mijlpaal en daarom maken we er een feestje van, bij deze ben je uitgenodigd op het FEESTBLOG van de DUTCH DARES.

Natuurlijk hebben we inspiratie voor je in de vorm van layouts, een uitdaging waar je zelf aan mee kunt doen, een kaart-schets waarvan je de uitwerkingen op de verschillende blogs van de designteam leden kunt bekijken en als je daar rondkijkt kun je meteen meedoen aan onze BLOGHOP. Tijdens deze bloghop ga je op zoek naar letters die een woord vormen. De oplossing mail je naar dutchdares@gmail.com want we geven superleuke CADEAUS weg omdat wij jarig zijn.

Als je niet via Cynthia op mijn blog bent gekomen, ga (hop) dan naar het blog van Dutch Dares om daar met de bloghop te starten. En ben je wel via Cynthia op mijn blog gekomen kun je op het blog van Jolanda de volgende letter vinden.

Bovendien geven alle leden van het DUTCH DARE DESIGNTEAM een RAK weg, gewoon omdat we het leuk vinden om eens een keertje flink uit te pakken. Om in aanmerking te komen voor het PRIJZENCIRCUS van de (10!) RAK's lees je per blog wat je daarvoor moet doen.

Om kans te maken op deze leuke  RAK incl. chipboard mini album moet je het volgende doen; 

1. Maak een foto van je scrapplek/kamer en deel dit op facebook, link het naar onze dutch dares groep op facebook zodat we het kunnen zien(even liken als je nog geen volger was daar om te kunnen linken/taggen) .
 

3. Laat me weten met hoeveel dutch dares jij hebt meegedaan in de afgelopen 6 jaar en welke je favoriet was en waarom.

Mijn jubileumdare is dutch dare #95, een dare waar het zweet me van uitbrak en waaraan ik niet had meegedaan door omstandigheden. Nu alsnog in de herhaling heb ik de volgende uitwerking gemaakt, en heel toevallig heeft ook een ander dt lid voor deze dare gekozen. (Oh en mocht je meedoen met de bloghop, jubileumdare en sketch maak je extra kansen op mijn RAK). 

Niet iedereen heeft een grote scrapkamer, een nette kamer of tafel maar des te leuker om te zien hoe de anderen erbij zitten. Ik durf mijn kamer voor en na de metamorfose met de hulp van 2 lieve scrapvriendinnen te laten zien die afgelopen februari plaatsvond, en hoop dat jij ook je kamer wilt delen !

Uiteraard hoort er bij een metamorfose een voor en na foto, dus met het schaamrood op mijn kaken heb ik hier 2 voor foto's voor jullie

 En na durf ik met een grote brede glimlach te laten zien

  

 Oh en waar jullie natuurlijk op zoek naar waren is de letter voor de bloghop, nou dat is deze weet je wat het is ?

Dutch Dare #85 a Q&A

I have no clue if there is anyone still reading my blog (leave me a comment if u do ) since I've been slacking in the blogdept bigtime .... ???

I blame facebook, goodreads & pinterest, it's so easy to keep everyone updated with my life through short bursts of info and/or pics there that I forget to update here ....

So there's a big gap between june and november which I will try to update over the next week !

My scraproom is not finished by a long shot but I've finally started scrapping again, but it's a slow proces as I'm having a hard time getting into the groove of it but I'm sure it will come easily again.

One Little Word

For the dutch dares we decided to start the year off with scrapping our personal word for 2011. This is what I made, it was a rush job so I might dress it up a bit more, what do you think ?

I used to scrap

And I'm doing it again, finally making more time for my hobby's.

Trying to bake something yummy every weekend so I can finally try out some recipes, trying to get back into scrapping and join in the dutch dares team more and making my own birthday cards to send out to friends (hopefully more on time these last few weeks ....) and trying to work out more. Gives me more balance thus happier me :)

Yes I still do ! Inbetween alle the purging & decluttering I'm starting to get the itch to scrap again so I haven't missed a project for the blog.

Inspiration

I get inspired a lot, and when I say a lot i mean A LOT ! Through bloglines i am connected to so many, many fun blogs that I get overinspired and save a lot of fun ideas but don't get around to actually doing something with it.

So when our latest ducht dare came around, which we changed last minute so we could pay tribute to an inspirational blog One Little Word that closed down, I had to use one of my saved ideas.

This cute little quote was found on the blog of Vicki Chrisman and she made the cutest canvas of it which I scraplifted and made my own. I'm loving it and want to make more little canvasses with inspiring quotes on it for my home. Check out what the rest of the girls made here, hope we inspire you !

I did it all

Well almost all during our fall break;

*pumpkin decorating
* Lego World
* purging in the attic (that went really well)
* spending a day with mommy
* wrote all bday cards on time !

The downpricing in the store didn't happen, didn't plan the crop yet, no research on italy yet. But 5 things out of the 7 that I had planned, that's not bad !

And the week after was such a busy week, every evening was booked I was really tired this weekend but had just enough energy to go to the Piens Album Track, great to have an album almost finished ! And this brings me back to some more scrapping which has been on the backburner a bit since I just wasn't in the mood for a while. I didn't join in the dutch dare although I had a pretty good one I could make and I will sometime but you really should check out what the rest of the Design team did !

Now I'm off to bed as I have the flu....

Most of you probably know what klaasbrokken are, they are a recipe from supermommy Francine shared on her blog and they have been a big hit in our household ever since....

And the second one just for fun, clean and simple about Michael meeting Colin. I really didn't think any journaling was necessary, the pic says it all ;)

Dutch Dare #43 online

I love this long break from work, DH is home too so I'm taking lots of time to scrap, I'm halfway finished with one layout and made this dutch dare, I really like how this turned out :

I will give a little update on the disney trip this weekend, we're busy over here getting our life back to normal and having fun with the boys who just got a new trampoline in the garden and a foosball table that barely fits in M's room but is oh so fun !

Dutch Dare & Altered lo

Our new Dutch Dare is up and it's all about "Crazy" and being so into something. Since the boys are pretty crazy about watching tv I have a lo about that, I cheated a bit as I've been working on this lo for a while (nov. '07 - june '08 .....) but couldn't finish it for some mojo reason and when the dare was thought up I immediatly thought this one would be perfect for it and finally finished it ;

Also I changed my previous Dutch Dare as it wasn't done in my opinion.

Dutch Dare # 41 is online

I'm back, been pretty ill very bad case of the stomach flu :( and lot's of stuff going on I will share soon BUT I'm only making a quickie post to share this LO for the current Dutch Dare we're @ #41 already.... it's all about dutch weather.

Here's my take, that due to time issues might need to be finished by adding a little something something on the left (well it's that or I will chop off a little bit on that side) of the lace. Can't decide yet ..... Well I don't think it needs any additional info, the title, pic and journaling says it all really LOL.

Have you seen the cool dutch dare this week ? I really wanted to join in but didn't have enough time and as I was rushing to finish it I found my lo going in a different direction and it wasn't about water so I gave up trying to get it done and am enjoying the process of making my project the way I like it. In fases... you see I'm happiest when I have several lo's I'm working on and can just add one thing at a time and see a lo grow on me. How do you like to work ?

BTW I hope we have the transport sorted for sunday, if so you will be seeing me at the 3rd SIS crop this weekend ! I'm so looking forward to it, it was great fun last time and I know a lot of friends of mine are coming and happy to read somewhere that might finally be able to meet Katja who always reads my blog (yay). Are you going ??

I have a small request, just this week whilst going through bloglines I passed a post about fun things to make with buttons. A lampshade, magnets and so on. I wanted to check it out again and for the life of me I cannot remember which blog it was ........ Has anyone seen this post, and can you help me out with the blog ? I would really appreciate it !

Dutch Dare #32

This was quite a challenge for me the subject but also timewise, scrap your favourite dutch band/singer, as I don't like a lot of dutch music, those that I do are r&b and soul but not typical dutch music. But then I remembered something that would be just right and I will bear all about it next wednesday on our blog when we share our inside stories but the journaling already reveals a bit. I found the necessary flyer, had lots of paper and there I sat for about 2 hours, then I thought c'mon just do it and made this in about an hour, a bit different than what I usually make but I like it (haha that's also the name of their song), hope you do too.

Dutch Dare # 30

I just uploaded the new dutch dares on our blog and they are so great ! I'm still not sure about what the wow factor is in my lo, I'm such a "twijfelkont" when it comes to making lo's always thinking it's missing something and are the colors right etc. (you get the image right ?) , well let's hope my photo is the wow factor this time ....

journaling : on 9.12.07 I was hit on the cyclist lane by a driver of a car who was in a hurry. The fact that I was riding with 2 bikes did not help when you want to avoid a collision ...

DD #29

Thanks everyone for their concern about my knee. It's still a bit stiff and awkward but getting better every day. Driving the car is no option yet and I won't be jogging anyday soon though .... I've been a bit stressed about getting the christmas cards and because I was in such a hurry I totally forgot to add a personal message and didn't realize till I had posted them ... pffff ... please don't take it personal anyone ! I really wanted to make my own this year as I do every year but I was running out of time and really needed to mail them.

Michael had to have a short stay in the hospital yesterday, 2 baby moulders had to be removed (due to repeated abces) under a short anesthetic and it went really well.




The new Dutch Dare is online and I have been wanting to make a lo with this picture for the longest time but never got around to it. And with our dare I just had to use it, and it's working out really nice. I still have to add the journaling somewhere/somehow so if you have any suggestions please let me know, I just couldn't figure it out anymore yesterday, unfortunately I always make the dares on a tightdeadline. Oh and I love what the other girls made ! Here's a sneak peak, check out the rest of my LO & the other girls here.
