Used some RdG, I love this brand but don't seem to use it a lot. Small projects do work well with it, and I really like the new lines too. Also used my cute new scalloped scissors, and gypsy stamp from Autumn Leaves, just had to try those...

And he's still a sweetie, but as of today also a big boy as he turns 6 years old who got spoiled over the weekend at both his parties (will give a recap tommorow of the festivities !)

Valentine & party preparations

So I've been working on a workshop for valentine, and it's almost finished. Whatcha think ?



The AL items are going sooooo fast, will be reordering some items on monday. Any requests ?

And now I'm off to several wholesalers to spend some money, have my Pocahontas costume ready for tommorow, just want some of those furry boots to finish off the outfit. I will show some photo's tommorow, you have been warned !

And again everybody has amazed me with their idea's ! Unfortunately I couldn't make mine on time, so bummed but I have an idea and I will still be making it but that'll probably be next week.

I am (and DH) sooooo busy filling the store with the lovely new collection Black, Red & Cream from Autumn Leaves, loooooots of Bag-o-Buttons and supercute stamps. Can't wait to try it all ........

Deck of me card 2 {Music}

Card 2; what is powerfull to me = Music

I don't mind sharing the journaling which is; Music is very powerful to me. It is a huge part of my life, even though I cannot make it myself and cannot sing to save my life. It's universal and is used to help people in all kinds of ways. I have all types to help me to find comfort, lyrics to make me feel strong, melodies to dance to and sounds to help me relax. I surround myself with music every day, because that's what is powerful in my my life. I did correct the little spelling mistake on the card, but didn't have time to take a new pic ...

Oh and did I tell you I took my mother to the Sound of Music singalong show ? It was so funny bcause she didn't know where we were going (I love to surprise her) and she thought "who are all these weirdly dressed up people" (picture a whole bunch of Von Trapp Families, heidi-types, nuns and so on) but when we got settled in our chairs she saw what it was about and was excited. I must tell you a bit about me, my mother and the Sound of Music. Whenever it was shown in any movie theater relatively close to where we were she dragged me to it (all of my childhood so that includes I don't know how many reruns), I used to put on my own puppetshow to lonely goatherd and my bedtime song was Edelweiss; catch my drift ? We thorougly enjoyed ourselves and sang along, shouted and clapped with all the other fans, even Martijn Krabbe ..... And I bought the special edition dvd, ok I admit she got me hooked but I was too young to say no ....

only one more week

It started way before Sinterklaas, the countdown that is .... How many more nights till my b'day ???? And well it's getting close now as it's only 10 more days to go ......

We've planned an Indian/Cowboy party (yeah finally I get to give my first themed b'day party !) and even mommy and daddy will get dressed up for this ! So tommorow it's off to get some accesories and a new birthday streamer (yes I know not very cowboy/indian but this is for the grown up party ....) I have had my eye on ! This is his invite that DH put together, he rocks at this !


He made a big wishlist and still I'm not sure everythings on there as he had quite the expensive taste putting this together so we need to sit down this weekend and look for some small things he marked in the toy catalogue.

Deck of me

Via the wonderfull Nat, I was made aware of this great challenge Emily Falconbridge started on her weblog.
An art journal made of a deck of cards, each week she will post a question and you scrap your answer on a card, at the end the year you will have a whole deck and that's your art journal. I just had to participate even though the first week had started already and since they are just tiny projects each week I knew I could.

And I had just the thing to inspire me ! I got those great new 7 gypsies stamps in and I HAD to use one of them.

I was book tagged by Nicole, and since I don't have any "grown-up" books in the living room I chose the book next on my nightstand. Now I've not been reading a lot for the longest time, I only seem to be "into it" when I'm abroad on a holiday ... a shame really because I loved to read, not too heavy literature for me though.

The new dares are up and al I can say is wow, I even got mine finished @ 22.15 last night, not bad deadlinewise (oh and I didn't pick my fave mag, cause I really wanted to scrap that photo !).

So check them out, they are so inspirational ! I love doing them because they force me to finish at least 1 project every 2 weeks and as you all know I am a SS (slow scrapper)...... I already have favorites, which do you like best ?

So busy this week, got lots of new hambly in the shop (paper & overlays), ALL the Ranger dabbers in stock and lot's of sale items to upload, gotta make space for the new lovely things I ordered from Autumn Leaves (and the new Cherry Arte by CD of course ;-) ...)

christmas vacation ?!

This is my second week of christmas vacation and I have a feeling it just started .....I had so many things I wanted to do; get my house more organized, scrap a lot, go to the zoo, get my admin organized, work out ehm well you get the idea ...

And what have I done so far =>

• the house is a bit more organized ( ok well I got a lot of washing done and the rooms of my M&M are done) but the attic is nowhere near to being done ....
  
• we played a lot of games, I went to an indoor playground with Wendy and the boys and tommorow we're going to the theatre with them but the weather is a bit unpredictable so the zoo was cancelled.
  
• Had a crop with some friends (Flo, Monique, Daphne & Liek) and I only scrapped for about an hour, so of course I didn't finish the project .... On the other hand the boys finished an altered mini book for their grandparents and they loved it.
  
• Admin is sort of organized, it's all tucked away in plastic folders but needs to be computerized (dreading this project), and I did a lot of updating in the shop (sale) & workshops.
  
• what I did do is RUN and let me tell you it went well, the new shoes are fab (although I must admit I need some more gear and on the top of my list is my own ipod LOL as I keep having to steal my DH's, and an extra pair of everything really .... Have to wait till my next paycheck though.
  

and that's it, not much :-( and you know what, the vacation is over after the weekend.....Oh well the next school vacation is in 6 weeks LOL

Goodbye 2006 Hello 2007

2006 was the start of my blog on which I could share a year of changes, choices, happy times, stress, old friends, scrapbooking, difficult times, new friends, my family & so much more.

Thanks for sharing all this with me, leaving a comment or just lurking !

To all of you I wish you more happiness, good health & that all your wishes come true (or at least a step closer) for 2007.

And to those that we have had to say goodbye to, I truly hope you have found peace, you will be remembered in our hearts…..
